5 Things You Didn't Know About Airports






1. Federal air marshals fly among you, even though you don't know it.

These marshals are doing their best to act like regular passengers, and are looking for anything suspicious.

2. Water is the most frequently bought item at the airport.

You'd rather save your 5$? Bring an empty bottle and fill it up at the water fountain after passing the security.

3. The U.S. has the most airports. 

And it's not even close. America has around 13,500 while Brazil places second with a mere 4000. 

4. Bag inspections wasn't mandatory for all passengers until the 70s.

But after some bomb threats, new screening regulation were accepted. 

5. You receive unconscious messages as you move through the airport.

There are certain cues placed around the airport to subtly help you find your way. It can be a matter of lighting, color or design. For example, the shape of the signs can vary slightly between terminals. That is, you may want to trust you instincts the next time you get the strange feeling that you are going the wrong way!
